One of Hunza's newest additions, the stunning Serena Altit Fort Residence offers a wonderful mix of modern comforts and historic charm. The rooms are housed in the beautiful Royal Garden Residence, the former residence of the son of Mir Jamal Khan of Hunza, which was built at the time of the restoration of the Altit Fort. Here guests can enjoy original features and traditional designs, or may prefer to immerse themselves in the spectacular views of the valley from the more simple Valley View Huts. The valley views can also be enjoyed from the KhaBasi Restaurant, which offers a delicious range of local specialties and, being housed in the former winter retreat of the royal family, also offers further insight into this historic architectural gem. The restaurant is run by local women connected to the former Women Social Enterprise (WSE) that was set up around 2003 at the time when restoration work began on the Altit Fort.
