Our rating: Ultra | Property style: Tented Camp

The Abu Camp is found in the Abu Concession of the Okavango Delta, offering guests access to 450,000 acres of pristine wilderness with seasonal floodplains, channels and palm islands all around. With six luxury tents this is a small camp, offering the intimacy and personal service that many visitors crave on safari. The tents are all raised up on wooden decks and are wonderfully comfortable with a classic safari feel. The tree shaded decking areas boast their own plunge pools that look out across a small lagoon which is a magnet for animal and birdlife. En-suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers are found at the rear of the tent. The large lounge and dining tent also overlooks the lagoon and has a well-stocked library; a great spot to relax with a book or gaze out to the lagoon for a chance of serendipitous game viewing. The campfire is perfect for guests to congregate before and after dinner to share stories of the day’s adventures under the starry skies. Abu offers a range of activities ranging from game drives to guided walks, boat trips and mokoro canoe safaris, with the time of year dictating which activities are available.
