Ryokan Hoshokaku, Takayama

This three star Ryoken, a traditional Japanese inn, is created to relax the senses through optimum comfort. Only a fifteen minute walk from JR Takayama Station and a five minute walk from the historical old town, the Ryokan has sixty one rooms, offering a choice of Japanese, western or combination style rooms. Guests are welcomed by Hida-no-Takumi carpentry in the spacious lobby, spreading out onto the Japanese tatami corridor. Head to the top floor where the open air Orihime bath provides views of the mountains and the town of Hida.
