We wanted to see Castles, citadels, ancient cities, soukhs, biblical sights, etc. We were interested in seeing one of the world’s great cultures ahead of the tourist masses... For the busy traveller exploring by yourself is difficult. Wild Frontiers excellent organisation and expertise allowed us to see much more of the real Syria through the eyes of locals. Our fellow travellers shared a similar ethos of not imposing western culture on Middle Eastern travel. A memorable trip.
