Just got back last night and writing to say we had a fantastic holiday. Glenburn lives up to all the glowing reviews, a gorgeous spot, terrific hospitality, it'll be even better once they fix the road! The river cruise had a lot to live up after that, the boat itself was pretty much as I expected (ie the décor is a bit grim, I'd love to do a 'changing rooms' style makeover!) but everything else was so good, the staff was brilliant, food was surprisingly good, they even did a beach BBQ for us one evening and transported what was probably the entire kitchen and the bar onto land! Malcolm is now determined to get a tandoor oven. As for Assam it was absolutely stunning, lovely people, amazing landscapes and although you don't do too much, the river trip is very relaxing. Kaziranga was also really beautiful and we loved both the elephant and jeep safaris. Assam has so much to offer and until we got to Kaziranga, we didn't see any other foreign tourists which just seems crazy. We're now in the process of downloading our photos now so if you're interested, can send you a few of the best ones, just in case you're already feeling jealous! Also all the travelling went to plan and John turned up all as planned to the great delight of Sophia and amusement to the rest of the cruise! Thanks for organising it all, it's been a wonderful trip.
