We really did go “Slowly Down the Ganges". sailing, rowing and punting in the small fishing boats was incredibly relaxing, and camping on the clean sandbanks wonderful. I don’t think I have ever seen such bright stars – no light pollution anywhere. The cook produced amazing food – we were rather sorry to reach Varanasi!
