A safari experience like no other – explore the Serengeti in style while staying at two unique camps. The trip begins by arriving to the idyllic spice island of Zanzibar. After an evening to settle into exotic new surroundings, you’ll then fly to one of Africa’s most famous wildlife destinations, the Serengeti National Park, renowned for its rich landscapes.
The incredible setting is made all the more special with a stay at the distinct Bush Rover Migration Camp, a selection of Land Rover-converted tents which seasonally move to the best spots in the park. Four days will be spent at this discreet camp, making use of its remote location with daily game drives under the guidance of a naturalist guide in search of the savannah’s majestic inhabitants. Days are broken up with downtime and gourmet meals out in the remote wilds of the Serengeti.
Exiting the national park, the pace then slows down for the final two nights spent at the Little Okavango Camp, a hotspot for birders on the banks of Lake Victoria. Enjoy exploring the channels and waterways by boat and strolling around the local fishing village before ending the trip in the capital of Dar es Salaam.

Example Itinerary
This is an example itinerary. Our experts have all travelled widely in the region and will be happy to tailor any of our itineraries to suit your tastes and budget, or build a trip from scratch.
Day 1 ARRIVE ZANZIBAR
Upon arrival to Zanzibar, your personal guide will be ready to meet you and help you settle into your hotel in Stone Town on the famed spice island. Today you can rejuvenate after your flight with some sunset cocktails on the rooftop bar overlooking the labyrinth of winding streets and alleys of the old town.
Day 2 ZANZIBAR – SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
After an early breakfast, fly into the heart of the world-famous Serengeti National Park. Landing at a small airstrip, you’ll be met by the camp guides and immediately begin your epic safari experience, benefitting from an extended game drive and a picnic lunch stop on the savannah during the transfer to the one-of-a-kind rover bush camp. The solar-powered, low-impact camp will be your home for the next four days, which is packed up at the end of the season without leaving a trace.
Day 3 SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Your first full day out on safari to explore these game-rich territories. The location of your mobile camp has been carefully chosen out in the remote reaches of the Serengeti to maximise the chances of spotting any of the Big Five that call the area home. During your time here, your days will generally be spent enjoying daily morning and afternoon games drives with your naturalist guide, broken up by mealtimes and some downtime back at the romantically rustic bush camp.
Day 4 SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Getting up at the crack of dawn, you’ll head out along the Mara River in search of some of the park’s most famous residents, the wildebeest, that gather at the water’s edge ready to cross. Momentum builds as members from the confusion (a group of wildebeest) test the waters by rushing up to the river just to halt at the last moment and turn back around. Each run sends the pulse racing before they finally take the plunge, immediately followed by a rush of animals jumping into the melee from all directions in one of the most exhilarating wildlife spectacles anywhere on the planet. The morning’s events are followed by a sumptuous brunch back at the camp before heading out once more on an afternoon game drive.
Day 5 SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
On days with little riverside activity, your guide may choose instead to cross the Mara River to explore the wonderful gamelands on the other side where migrating animals may fill the plains and predators lie in wait for them; the famous Kopje rocks are a favourite hideaway for lions and leopards keeping an eye on their prey. Lunchtime is often spent lazing at the camp and soaking in the peaceful views from your private balcony during the midday sun. A spot of late afternoon tea provides a bit of energy before heading out on a shorter game drive later on, before a sundowner and dinner by the campfire in the evening.
Day 6 SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK – LAKE VICTORIA
Today you’ll transfer to your next camp just outside the national park, set up on the banks of Lake Victoria. This is a great bird-watching spot and when the lake floods the area surrounding this water-based camp, hippos can be seen wading and munching right under the camp’s walkways. Depending on the day’s timing, it may be possible to take small canoe-boats out to explore the peripheral channels this evening before dinner at the camp.
Day 7 LAKE VICTORIA
Your last day in the Serengeti region, this morning you can enjoy a calm, cultural experience after days out in the wilderness and head to a local fishing village for a chance to meet some people! Early in the morning, fishermen and boat makers from surrounding tribes come together to barter and begin their day. Now making an additional income through tourism, you’ll be led by a local man and shown around the village. Returning via motorboat, there’ll be a stop for a wonderful brunch on the top deck of the lodge's observation tower looking through the tall papyrus grass to the glistening lake. Enjoy a final afternoon at leisure at the camp before dinner.
Day 8 LAKE VICTORIA – DEPART DAR ES SALAAM
Following breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airstrip for your flight to the capital, Dar es Salaam, where your adventure ends.

Rooms feature bright white décor with rustic-looking, wooden furniture and four-poster beds, beautifully blending modern comfort with a local feel. Being 20 minutes from the airport, this is a great option for those wishing to be immersed in the culture and history of the historic town, particularly for shorter stays.
Bush Rover Migration Camp, Serengeti Mobile Camps
The award-winning Bush Rover Migration Camp is a special, seasonal camp which moves between three of the best locations in the Serengeti, following the great wildebeest migration whilst aiming to be away from the crowds. Little Okavango Camp, Lake Victoria
Sat on the border of the Serengeti National Park, Little Okavango Camp is a little gem found on the banks of Lake Victoria. Its location makes it one of the best areas for bird viewing in Africa - the variety of birds is staggering – as well as a good entry point into the national park located just 10 minutes from the Serengeti Ndabaka Gate. Game and elephants can be seen not far from the camp and when the lake floods, hippos make their way to the camp and can be found munching beneath the walkways.Accommodation is made up of comfortable, en suite tented rooms set on large wooden platform terraces and protected by thatched roofs. Meals are enjoyed at the camp or at a nearby observation tower during excursions, which are often done by boat heading out to explore the surrounding channels and nearby fishing village. Positive Impact of this Trip
Making a Difference
Community Tourism
People and local communities have always been at the heart of Wild Frontiers and the travel experiences we offer. Through community tourism we have the opportunity to generate real positive impact, supporting people we visit through sustainable local development, and in turn help to alleviate poverty and protect culture and environments in often more vulnerable destinations. While doing so, our clients gain richer travel experiences and more meaningful connections with the people they meet.
Conservation and Climate Action
As a travel company, we hold a responsibility to minimise our environmental footprint and contribute to sustainability, and work closely with local communities to support their efforts. By implementing initiatives such as carbon measuring, tree-planting, reducing single-use plastic and promoting eco-friendly practices, we can help mitigate the negative impacts of tourism on fragile ecosystems and local communities. Additionally, prioritising conservation efforts helps preserve natural habitats and wildlife, ensuring that future generations can continue to enjoy the wonders of our planet.
Wild Frontiers Foundation
The Wild Frontiers Foundation aims to provide a platform to create awareness, raise money and deliver funding to projects in countries where we operate as a travel company. Through the foundation, we are able to channel money into grass roots projects, which we have either established ourselves or support through charity partners. These include initiatives focused around education, the empowerment of local people and community conservation.
