Day 2 TANA - ANDASIBE - MANTADIA NATIONAL PARK
After a leisurely breakfast and a trip briefing you will be taken by road this morning on to the stunning Andasibe National Park set amongst the primary forests of Madagascar's northeastern landscapes. Arriving at your lodge in time for lunch, the afternoon is then free to relax and enjoy the facilities of the lodge, or perhaps head out in search of some of the 11 species of lemur for which the park is famed including the iconic Indri Lemur.
Day 3 EXPLORE ANDASIBE - MANTADIA NATIONAL PARK
Covering some 154 square kilometres, Andasibe National Park is a paradise for birders and home to more than 100 species, including many endemic individuals such as the Madagascar yellow brow, the Madagascar serpent-eagle and the blue cuoa. The daily company of the park's knowledgeable guides will make spotting these rare specimens a memorable and informative experience and leave you wanting to return for more.
Day 4 EXPLORE ANDASIBE - MANTADIA NATIONAL PARK
Another day in the park provides more opportunity for exploration and wildlife viewing with a chance to spot some of the park’s other resident species including the Indris, the largest living lemur on the island which can reach up to one metre in height. The day can be broken up with some relaxation amongst the beautiful surroundings, superb food and warm Madagascan hospitality back at the lodge.
Day 5 ANDASIBE - MANTADIA NATIONAL PARK - TANA
Following a leisurely breakfast you will be collected from the lodge and transferred back to Antananarivo, arriving back in the capital in time for lunch. The afternoon is then free to relax or perhaps join a sightseeing tour of old Tana, the perfect way to learn more about the fascinating history of this old French colony.
Day 6 TANA - ANJAJAVY RESERVE
An early morning departure from the lodge and a scheduled charter flight from Tana Airport takes you on to the west coast this morning. Your destination is the private nature reserve of Anjajavy, a sumptuous setting of forests, creeks and mangrove swamps overlooking the Mozambique Channel. On arrival you will be driven from the airstrip to the lodge, arriving with ample time to enjoy lunch and a relaxing afternoon beside the pool or on the beach.
Day 7 EXPLORE ANJAJAVY RESERVE
There are a number of excursions and activities available to you during your stay here including kayaking and sailing, zip lines across the azure waters and explorations of the mangrove swamps that run adjacent to the beach. In between activities, the lodge provides the perfect combination of fine hospitality and superb seafood to make your stay an unforgettable experience.
Day 8 EXPLORE ANJAJAVY RESERVE
Another day in paradise can be spent exploring the quiet coves and hidden beaches that surround the lodge by motorboat. On request, the lodge can also supply you with a private picnic lunch on a deserted beach, for those celebrating a special occasion.
Day 9 EXPLORE ANJAJAVY RESERVE
The Anjajavy Reserve is home to a fine example of one of Madagascar's most remarkable phenomena, the limestone Tsingy. Formed by acid rain erosion, these incredible formations provide some wonderful photo opportunities and the trails that run through them present ideal scrambling points for you to access some of the best viewing points.
Day 10 EXPLORE ANJAJAVY RESERVE
As you might expect, Anjajavy also benefits from the addition of some incredibly diverse wildlife species and a day in the company of a highly experienced guide allows you to get the most out of the experience. Spanning some 750 hectares, the reserve is filled with ancient coral remains, towering baobab trees and lush palms that provide a haven for lemurs, green kingfishers and fody birds. A night walk later also provides a chance to see mouse lemurs, fat-tailed dwarf lemurs and greater hedgehog tenrecs.
Day 11 EXPLORE ANJAJAVY RESERVE
There is always plenty of activities to find to do around Anjajavy, but the wonderful beaches, quietly tranquil corners and lovely pool area around the lodge also provides the perfect opportunity for a more laidback experience. Sitting back with a good book, soaking up the serene ambiance of your surroundings and gazing out across captivating coastal waters towards the deep indigo of the Indian Ocean is highly recommended.
Day 12 EXPLORE ANJAJAVY RESERVE
Your final day in the reserve provides one last chance to enjoy paradise at your own pace. If relaxing around the lodge isn't for you, why not head out on a mountain bike and explore some of the trails around the surrounding countryside. Other alternatives for the more active amongst you also include a chance to try some water skiing or wakeboarding.
Day 13 ANJAJAVY RESERVE - TANA
After breakfast, you will say your farewells before being transferred back to the airstrip for the scheduled flight to Antananarivo where you can connect with your onward flight arrangements. Should you require, we can make arrangements for you to have access to a hotel close to the airport. Your tour ends here.

Positive Impact of this Trip
Making a Difference
Community Tourism
People and local communities have always been at the heart of Wild Frontiers and the travel experiences we offer. Through community tourism we have the opportunity to generate real positive impact, supporting people we visit through sustainable local development, and in turn help to alleviate poverty and protect culture and environments in often more vulnerable destinations. While doing so, our clients gain richer travel experiences and more meaningful connections with the people they meet.
Conservation and Climate Action
As a travel company, we hold a responsibility to minimise our environmental footprint and contribute to sustainability, and work closely with local communities to support their efforts. By implementing initiatives such as carbon measuring, tree-planting, reducing single-use plastic and promoting eco-friendly practices, we can help mitigate the negative impacts of tourism on fragile ecosystems and local communities. Additionally, prioritising conservation efforts helps preserve natural habitats and wildlife, ensuring that future generations can continue to enjoy the wonders of our planet.
Wild Frontiers Foundation
The Wild Frontiers Foundation aims to provide a platform to create awareness, raise money and deliver funding to projects in countries where we operate as a travel company. Through the foundation, we are able to channel money into grass roots projects, which we have either established ourselves or support through charity partners. These include initiatives focused around education, the empowerment of local people and community conservation.
