Jardin du Roy, Isalo National Park

Found just 20 minutes from the Isalo National Park entrance at Ranohira, Jardin du Roy is a quintessentially French property offering the feel of a traditional Provencal farmhouse deep in the Madagascan countryside. There are eight smaller buildings that house five bedrooms each and are scattered around the grounds, with 40 rooms in total. Room options include doubles, triples or family rooms, and all are very spacious and modern with air-conditioning, stone floors, open fireplaces and lots of red décor. The beds are all covered in full-length mosquito netting and the en-suite bathrooms are well appointed. There is a lovely outdoor swimming pool with a large patio area around it, and the main part of the lodge has a lounge, dining room and bar area. Guests can stroll through the gardens, enjoy a game of tennis and even tackle one of the self-guided walking trails around the property.
