Mandala Ou Resort, Nong Khiaw

Located in the beautiful remote village of Nong Khiaw in Northern Laos, Mandala Ou offers simple but comfortable accommodation. This small property has taken proactive steps to help combat plastic pollution by partnering with Trash Hero Laos and BambooLao. Since July 2018, the resort has eliminated plastic water bottles and straws, replacing them with high-quality refillable aluminum bottles and locally crafted bamboo straws, both of which are available for guests for a nominal fee. The resort also offers free water refill stations in reception, and when purchasing local ingredients and supplies, provides reusable cloth bags to their partners to minimize single-use plastic.
