Found to the North of the main Maasai Mara National Reserve, the eight conservancies that surround the Maasai Mara offer visitors a truly wonderful safari experience. Their location means that they can offer guests the outstanding game viewing in more private surroundings than camps in the main Mara. The result is outstanding game viewing without large numbers of vehicles surrounding particular sightings and spoiling the experience. Each of the eight conservancies are privately managed by the camps located within them and the local Maasai landowners, creating a great example of conservation in action. During the Great Migration season between July and September, all visitors to the conservancies will spend one full day in the main part of the Mara searching for the herds and trying to see a river crossing.
