For a luxury stay in an incredible location, stay at the MesaStila. The five star resort incorporates colonial buildings, Joglo-villas and tropical gardens in the centre of a coffee plantation, surrounded by mountains. The villas dotted around the property are in the traditional Javanese architectural style and the smell of blooming coffee trees often blows through the large windows. The interiors reflect the Indonesian colonial style with intricate wooden carvings and four poster beds. The rest of the grounds host a converted plantation warehouse serving afternoon tea, a poolside restaurant and a Javanese restaurant – where you can dine on local and organic produce. Pamper yourself at the Hammam Turkish Bath or discover traditional medicines handed down the generations during a meeting with a traditional Indonesian Jamu seller.
