Located on the banks of the Rufiji River, Sand Rivers Selous is one of the best lodges in the reserve, offering guests a combination of superb accommodation, laid back hosting and excellent safaris. The eight spacious cottages are split into five Riverside Rooms and three Hillside Suites, all in superb locations around the grounds. The en-suite bathrooms have indoor showers, flush loos and hot and cold running water. The bedroom areas are lovely and comfortable with mosquito net draped beds and small verandas at the front. The Hillside Suites also have additional indoor lounge areas and private plunge pools. The open-sided lounge area of the camp looks out across the Rufiji River whilst the sparkling swimming pool is a great spot to relax. The food here is fantastic, prepared by a team of highly skilled chefs and served by the smiling staff. All activities are enjoyed on a shared basis with a maximum of 6 guests to any one guide. Game drives, guided walks, boat safaris, fishing trips and fly-camping out in the bush can all be arranged from Sand Rivers.
