It was during Rachel’s third year of her European Legal Studies LLB in Spain that her eyes were first opened, and her curiosity sparked, to what fascinating and enchantingly beautiful places the world had to offer. The year abroad to prepare her undergraduate dissertation was mainly spent backpacking and nurturing a growing desire to explore the world and so, after returning and completing the degree, she set off with a little Spanish under her belt and a one-way ticket to South America.

With the goal of seeing as much of the continent as possible, Rachel spent a year travelling through every country in South America including the oft-overlooked Guianas before running out of funds and returning to the U.K. She spent the next couple of years working as a travel consultant for an established U.K. tour operator and specialising in South American travel, during which time her admiration and fascination for that part of the world developed. When the urge to dust off the backpack and hit the road once more became too strong to ignore, she found herself being drawn back to the Western Hemisphere and decided to continue the route she began a few years prior.

Another year later and Rachel had explored all of Latin America. During the last few years of travelling and working in tourism it became apparent that second to her love of travelling, was researching and writing about travel which she would find herself doing before, during and after a trip. So, when an opportunity presented itself to become part of the Wild Frontiers Product team, Rachel jumped at the chance and decided to base herself back in London. Using her sales, research and travel experience she is now involved in product and content development at WF and couldn’t be happier.
