Kulala Desert Lodge, Sossusvlei
Situated at the foot of the towering red dunes of Sossusvlei, Kulala Desert Lodge has beautiful surroundings and is an ideal base to explore one of Namibia’s most iconic sights. Made up of 20 standard and 3 family kulalas, this is a relatively large camp, but the rooms are nicely spread out from one another and the main area of the lodge offers plenty of space to ensure you don’t feel overrun by other guests. The rooms are raised up off the desert floor on wooden decks, allowing them to catch a cooling breeze, and also have flat topped rooves where guests can sleep out beneath the stars. At the main lodge there is an open plan bar and dining area, a sizeable swimming pool and a large veranda which overlooks a floodlit waterhole where a variety of animals can be seen coming to drink.
