Brunton Boatyard
Luxury
Outstanding service and facilities, giving you the 5* experience
Our rating: Luxury | Property style: Boutique Hotel
Located in the centre of Fort Cochin, close to the Chinese fishing nets, this property is one of Cochin's premier hotels. Originally a shipyard, the property beautifully recaptures the city's nautical traditions and its colonial heritage. The lobby is decorated with old maps and antiques, whilst the hotel's exceptional dining facilities encompass a rich profusion of culinary cultures, including fresh seafood from the harbour. Most of the hotel's 22 rooms and suites overlook the sea and have private balconies. Between activities, the garden and outdoor pool area is a prime spot for watching the ships pass through the harbour. As with most CGH properties, filtered water is served in glass bottles to reduce plastic waste and there are complimentary activities such as cooking demonstrations and sunset cruises on Brunton Boatyards private boat.

Le Colonial
The Colonial is a lovely old Dutch trading house dating back to the turn of the 16th century situated in the heart of the old town, in close proximity to the Chinese fishing nets and Saint Francis Church. All eight rooms and suites have been individually decorated, recreating a genuine colonial feel whilst retaining comfort and elegance. The funny thing here we liked the cheapest room the best. It is a bit small but it made up for this by having a large balcony over-looking the front garden and pool. The place is very authentic with prints of the first afghan war, and other military memorabilia all over the place, which some might find a bit 'over the top' but all in all it is a lovely place to stay.

Old Harbour
Carefully built inside a restored 300-year-old building in the historic heart of Kerala, this boutique hotel contains 13 unique rooms, each named after the surrounding streets. Crafted with Portuguese and Dutch influences, the high ceilings, four poster beds and art on the walls make this an exquisite place to stay. There are three cottages in the garden for added exclusivity. Guests can enjoy the swimming pool, gardens and Ayurvedic spa, who's products are purely organic, as are the soap and shampoos in the bathroom and the delicacies in the restaurant. There is no Wi-Fi or television in the rooms to encourage disconnection, but Wi-Fi dongles and televisions can be provided upon request.
