Capture real life on the streets of Kolkata and Jodhpur as the people of these vibrant Indian cities work and play. This street photography training tour, with award-winning photographer and Nikon Ambassador Mark Seymour, offers a unique cultural opportunity along with the chance to hone your skills.
We step away from the usual tourist haunts to witness everyday life on the streets of India – from the stallholders applying their trades at the markets to the railway tracks where adults socialise and children play. Mark will guide you in how to behave and position yourself to enable you to capture natural and candid photos, sharing what he looks for to create stunning documentary images.
We first focus on Kolkata ‘The City of Joy’ and home to the HOPE Foundation, the work of which will be supported with a contribution of £250 per person from this tour. The Wild Frontiers Foundation works with HOPE both in India and the UK to help vulnerable young people from the city’s streets and slums through education.
Travel with and learn from Mark Seymour, one of the UK’s leading documentary photographers and 2013 Nikon ambassador for wedding and documentary photography.
Develop your photography skills while gaining an incredible insight into the people and street life in India.
Photograph the colourful Flower Market, Hooghly River and Book Market, Howrah Junction Station and the railway track slums during our 5-day workshop in Kolkata.
Visit the HOPE Foundation and enjoy lunch at the HOPE café, where you can meet trainees at work.
Explore and photograph the city of Jodhpur, where its blue painted buildings and magnificent towering fort provide a vivid backdrop to life within the labyrinth of lanes and streets.
Meet the people of rural Bhenswara and outlying villages, plus the chance to spot the family of leopard that lives in the surrounding hills.
Enjoy relaxing evenings talking about the day and reflecting on the images you have taken.

At Wild Frontiers we have always strived to offer the most authentic, safe and ethically sensitive travel experiences on the market, not necessarily the cheapest. From the support system in London to the holiday itself, we feel we offer the best way to see and experience a destination and that is why our loyal clients come back to us time and again. So when making price comparisons, please bear in mind the following:
On your trip
On all but a handful of group tours our maximum size is 12.
We use dedicated tour leaders as well as local guides.
We aim to use quality, interesting and experiential accommodation – usually the best available.
We tend to offer our trips on an all-inclusive basis. (Please check specific dossier for details but this could add in excess of £400 to competitors pricing!).
We include drinking water, and often soft drinks.
We aim to use the most efficient, interesting, safe and comfortable transport available.
As part of our ethical policy, we pay a fair price for the services offered to us, thus making sure our local staff and crews receive a fair wage.
Peace of mind
We are fully ATOL & ABTOT protected – with us your money is safe!
We have full public liability insurance – to the tune of £5,000,000.
We work in association with the security company Control Risks in order to receive live security updates, briefings and emergency evacuation protocols if needed.
We have an office in London, staffed by a professional team of adventure holiday planners.
We have a 24 hour emergency helpline.
We have full Crisis Management training.
Each trip is managed by a specific operations manager with whom you will have direct access.
All our itineraries are designed by us, not bought ‘off the shelf’ from local companies.
A percentage of all income generated by our trips goes to The Wild Frontiers Foundation.
It is for these reasons, and the expert delivery of our trips, that we have won so many awards and have so many loyal clients. As we say, we are not the cheapest, but we do fell we are the best.
