Today we begin with lunch and an afternoon exploring India's capital city, focussing upon New Delhi.
This morning we will head to Agra, visiting the mighty Agra fort on arrival. As it is Friday the Taj is closed but we will have a great view of this impressive monument before dinner.
Rising early we visit the majestic Taj Mahal for sunrise. We then head to the abandoned 'ghost' city of Fathepur Sikri, before continuing to Kanota aka the the Viceroy Club in the film for a relaxing evening.
Today we head to the 'Pink City' of Jaipur, where the 'Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' was set and filmed. Heere we'll visit a number of wonderful sites including the Amber Fort, Palace of the Winds and City Palace Museum.
We have a second day to take in more of Jaipur, visit the bazaars and havelis and then free time to wander at leisure.
Moving on this morning we arrive in the peaceful Hindu pilgrimage town of Pushkar, home of the only temple in India dedicated to the god of creation, Brahma.
After breakfast we'll begin our 5-6 hour drive to Khempur. On arrival we will check into the Real Exotic Marigold hotel - which is as quirky and characterful as the film suggests!
Today is free to enjoy Ravla Khempur in its charming village setting.
Udaipur, the Venice of the east, is only a short drive away so we aim to arrive mid-morning and have an orientation walk around the main areas.
Getting lost in Udaipur is part of the fun, so wander the alleyways and soak up this most romantic and relaxed of Indian cities. Highlights include the Monsoon palace and Jain temples.
Our tour concludes this morning.
