The tour starts today in Georgia's atmospheric capital. As the suggested group flights do not arrive until late in the day, no organised sightseeing has been included today, but if you are here early, the old town makes a great place for a wander
We'll have the whole day to explore Tbilisi from its churches, synagogues, mosques, fortresses & baths to its shops, cafes and quiet streets.
Leaving the capital we head east to wander the ruins of a 6th century desert monastery complex and sample some local wine.
We will stop at Ananuri to visit two fortified churches beautifully situated on the Jinvali water reservoir and cross the Gombori Pass making our way to Kazbegi.
Descending from the mountains, we visit the centre of the Georgian Orthdox Church at Mtskheta before making for the birthplace of Stalin, Gori, home to the Stalin Museum - unchanged since the days of the USSR .
Today we head to West Georgia – the famous Land of the Golden Fleece, where Jason and the Argonauts sailed.
We'll have a long drive today, as we head to the highest permanently inhabited village in Europe.
We'll take a walk in the direction of Mt Shkhara, the highest peak in Georgia, before moving on to Mestia.
This morning we’ll drive towards the village of Lakkhiri village, where we’ll start our day’s walk. We’ll enjoy great views of the Caucasus and especially the two-summit peak of Mt Ushba
Today we will visit the stunning Koruldi Lakes and visit the Svaneti museum, before taking the Zuruldi Cable car to a café.
We head to the Black Sea coast to the town of Batumi.
Crossing the Goderdzi Pass we'll head to the town of Akhaltsikhe before making our way to the cave town of Vardzia.
We'll have a full day to enjoy the magnificent cave towns of Vardzia and Vanis Qvabebi.
Today we'll drive back to Tbilisi past Lake Paravani - the longest late in Georgia.
The tour ends this morning in Tbilisi.
