Hosted by enthusiastic chocolatier Amelia Rope, the founder of Amelia Rope Chocolate, this enriching and aromatic adventure takes us into the heart of Colombia’s cocoa industry. Set against the backdrop of one of the most exciting and energetic countries in South America, the journey focuses on the rich importance that cocoa and chocolate has played in Colombia, both as a cultural tradition and as an economic lifeline from the once rampant drug trade.
With Amelia as a passionate and knowledgeable host, we’ll journey from the bustling centre of the country’s capital and deep into the rich landscapes of the central highlands and the western hills. Along the way we’ll take in the colonial splendours of Popayan, Santa Marta and Cartagena, visit the underground cathedral at Zipaquirá and enjoy the majesty and beauty of the Tayrona National Park.
ALL OUR SMALL GROUP TOURS HAVE NO LOCAL PAYMENTS, HIDDEN EXTRAS OR COMPULSORY SINGLE SUPPLEMENTS.
