Botswana Tours

Botswana is a land-locked country where the wonderful waterways of the world renowned Okavango Delta meets the Kalahari thirst land. It's a destination of myriad beauties, rich cultures and wonderful scenery. Wild Frontiers is able to offer horse riding adventures in three areas, the Okavango Delta, the Makgadikgadi Saltpans and the Tuli Block.

In the north-west, the Okavango River flows in from the highlands of Angola and soaks into the sands, forming the 15,000 sq. km network of water channels, lagoons, swamps and islands.

The Okavango is the largest inland delta system in the world. There is something very special about riding along the waters’ edge watching great herds of wildebeest as they move across the golden floodplains with the sound track of the lions’ roaring and fish eagles’ cries.

The Makgadikgadi Pan is a large salt pan in the middle of the dry savanna of northeastern Botswana. It is one of the largest salt flats in the world; the pan is all that remains of Lake Makgadikgadi. Now you can explore this wild, unspoilt area in the same manner as many of the earliest explorers, hunters and missionaries – on horseback! This exceptional landscape with the vast pans, sprawling open woodlands and good ground lends itself to an unforgettable riding experience.

The Tuli Block is situated between the Sashe and Limpopo rivers, this section of land forms a triangle where the international borders of Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa meet. The Tuli Block is unlike any other region in the country, offering its own majesty.

Set in a landscape of remarkable natural beauty, it consists of 12 000 hectares of the largest privately-owned game conservation area in Southern Africa. Known as "the land of the giants" with enormous trees on the banks of the Limpopo River, beautiful forests of lime-green fever trees, rocky landscapes, carved from ancient granite and basalt rocks by numerous river systems over millions of years, the Tuli block, has without a doubt, it's own kind of splendour.
