Travelling in Afghanistan presents a unique set of challenges and so far we are embracing them all! After an early arrival in Tajikistan's capital Dushanbe more than a week ago, I managed to get my shopping done with the help of some delightfully keen clients and my old friend Oriz. The market became incredibly hot in the afternoon so we were quick to make sure we were able to have a refreshing beverage or two by way of a reward!

We have spent the last few days driving along the spectacular Pamir Highway, surely one of the most scenic roads in the world - if not the most comfortable! After a few days exploring the Tajik Wakhan we have now crossed into Afghanistan in an impressive time of less than two hours - I think with border guards became quickly bored of checking through the huge amount of equipment we have!

Our local guides are a delight so far, keen to learn eager to help the clients when needed, which is wonderful. Now to explore this unique and remote part of Afghanistan!
