Interview

Q: How did you fall into tour leading?

A: When I was travelling alone in Albania, sometimes it was quite difficult to get to the places I wanted to visit for several reasons (mainly the cost, but not always). My answer to the problem was not to give up, but instead to organise and lead small groups of friends and other travellers around Albania. It came naturally and I enjoyed it so much that I wanted it to become my profession.

Q: What do you like most about tour leading?

A: To show other passionate travellers my favourite places in Albania. I love to share experiences, create new ones and to help people get in touch with nature and different cultures.

Q: Where is your favourite part of the world?

A: Southeastern Balkans

Q: What was your biggest travel highlight?

A: My favourite moment was the wonderful view I had the first time I reached Mount Cika’s peak.

Q: What’s the craziest request you’ve ever had from a client?

A: If there was a toilet. We were seven kilometres walk from the nearest one.

Q: What’s the one thing you couldn’t travel without?

A: A good book

Q: Which famous person would you most like to travel with?

A: Charles Darwin

Q: Have you ever made a cultural faux pas?

A: Once I was convinced my clients were Germans and they were Austrians instead
