Central India: Wildlife, Ancient Kingdoms & Beaches

From Madhya Pradesh in the north to Karnataka in the south, Central India offers the intrepid traveller some of the best experiences on the subcontinent. Boasting no fewer than six UNESCO World Heritage Sites, some of the country’s best hotels and some of its finest cuisine, this is a region that offers up the quintessential India experience.

Beginning in Mumbai, you’ll have an opportunity to explore something of the city’s colonial heritage, before catching the train to Bhopal. Your gateway onto the UNESCO treasures around Sanchi and the rich gamelands of the Satpura National Park, you’ll enjoy some exciting safari opportunities along the Narmada River before continuing on to Hyderabad.

After exploring some of the monuments and markets of India’s “City of Pearls”, you’ll continue into neighbouring Karnataka to visit Bijapur’s stunning Islamic architecture and the unmissable ruins at Hampi, one of India’s most remarkable sites. Heading on to the Goan coast from here, your journey then ends besides the tranquil waters of the Arabian Sea.
