Iran - the only image one has is from the press and the odd comment from someone who knows someone but what to expect? Most people said " be careful. Is it safe? Are you mad?" I honestly had no expectations and I have never been part of a group tour before all I knew is that John Simpson years ago had spoken of a magical place called Esfahan and I decided one day I would go too. It is more than you can imagine - the architecture , the ancient wonderful culture and historical sights , the arid desert and endless bus journeys. The people are wonderful, go before it becomes a regular tourist destination !
