This is a wonderful tour. The small Mongolian horses are tough and full of 'go'. The scenery is fantastic; one rides from vast open plains with never a fence in sight, to forested mountains and lakes and it changes all the time. It is a very moving experience to meet the Reindeer People and understand their simple, nomadic way of life, and to be present at a shaman ceremony was very special. We travelled for several days with pack ponies who carried what seemed to us to be incredible loads and it was quite an education watching them being loaded. We spent the last two nights of the ride at a ger camp, which were very welcome after 10 days camping and it was a very strange (but welcome) feeling having someone creeping into our ger at 6am to light the fire in our stove - that wonderful warmth to get up to before facing the cold outside!
