When I found out that Wild Frontiers travelled to Kashmir I knew I had to go. And my experience was everything I hoped it would be - from the gentle days on Dal Lake, watching pond herons and kingfishers in the lotus gardens whilst villagers paddled by and Mr Wonderful the flower man came selling dahlias and gladioli in his shikhara, to the magical two day water trek along the Jhellum river, into the lakes of Mansabal and Wallu, camping in a Moghul Garden one night and a water meadow full of wild horses the next. Thankyou Wild Frontiers for making Kashmir real to me at last.
