I hadn’t expected Tblisi, to be such a good-looking city – very unspoilt, and full of surprises. But Georgia’s hinterland is enchanting – orchards nestling between steep craggy mountains, stunning churches – always in a spectacular position – and then round the corner another fascinating piece of history which our guide could entertain us with. Our magnificent walk in the Caucasus was hard work but we were well rewarded with the views and flowers. We even enjoyed the company of a herd of horses as we tramped over the pass. We all vowed to return.
