Howard & Hazel Darbon

The pre-tour promotional literature promised much. The reality exceed all expectations and at every corner there was a new experience awaiting, whether meeting the gorillas, dancing and playing with the Karyenda drummers or endeavouring to scale Mount Bisoke. Equally, the ghastliness of the 1994 Genocide struck home, but the friendliness of the local communities demonstrated quite clearly the way the region has dragged itself up and become an amazing destination.
