A superb trip combining a physical challenge; camping in the wilderness of China (with the comfort of an occasional stay in a guesthouse) and a legitimate cultural experience in small villages and lesser known tourist sites where it is still possible to get a feel for local life. The guides are helpful and extremely knowledgeable – invaluable in a country where information can be biased.
