I stepped out of time- it wasn't a holiday, but it was a grade A adventure. The highlights? Getting to the top of the mountain... all the churches, the crosses and so much belief and pride - they have so little but so much... the markets... the pilgrims (there was one of them taking water from what he believed was a holy well to put in his ear to kill his earache!)... art in those out of the way places. I was struck by it all. Each day had a treat, each day an experience, each day a magic.... We had gone through a tear in the curtain and found ourselves in another world that existed hundreds of years ago. That was a privilege.
