These days work pressures increasingly constrain the time and effort available - but not the passion - for travel. But having become rather disillusioned with the impersonality and often unwieldy, large group-size of major adventure travel operators, I was looking for a more personal, small-group, off-the-beaten-track approach - and Wild Frontiers did not disappoint! The spring "East India and Bhutan " departure, with Jonny and five wonderfully diverse but committed fellow travellers, offered an imaginative, flexible and very varied itinerary. Effortlessly well organised, with never a sense of being rushed or regimented - it all added up to a memorable trip to this most magical of destinations. The philosophy seems to be to "go that extra mile" yet the easy-going, personal touch clearly belies a professional and efficient operation, with intimate knowledge of the destinations and extensive local contacts. I would certainly travel with Wild Frontiers again on another of their highly original "fixed" itineraries - or use their knowledge and enthusiasm to someday tailor-make that "dream" journey!
