This tour ranks as one of the top 3 trips that I have ever been on (with Svalbard and southern Patagonia). The scenery was breath-taking and just kept on getting better and better. The local people that we met, especially in the upper Wakhan valley, were so keen to meet with us and communicate through gestures and smiles. The trip is not for someone who wants high cuisine - though it was definitely a culinary experience - but to see how people live in such a remote and isolated harsh and hard environment was a real privilege. A really wonderful and thought-provoking journey.
