Safety was one of the reasons I chose to go to Iran in small organised group. I needn't have had any such concerns. My overwhelming impression was that the Iranian people who came up to us to chat - and there were many - were warm, friendly, charming and sincere. Their generosity and kindness of spirit has left me with a real appreciation of both Iran and of Iranians. This, coupled with magnificent mountain scenery, wide open spaces, romantic gardens and wonderful architecture, made for a superb trip destination.
