As with most trips, some things surprise. In our case it was the three cities of Baku, Tbilisi and Yerevan, which were gems: lively and picturesque. The mountains lived up to their billing, perhaps because we were lucky with the weather. The museums (not usually our favourites) were all interesting and interactive.
