Commanding incredible views over frozen lakes and the U-shaped Lapporten Mountain, Bjorkliden is a fantastic ski lodge located in the Abikso National Park high in the north of Sweden. Björkliden was founded during the early 20th century, primarily due to a need for lodging for the engineers working with a monumental piece of Swedish history: Malmbanan (the Iron Ore Railway). Over the years, several lifts have been added, cabins have been changed, the golf course has been developed and Björkliden has been discovered by an ever-increasing number of enthusiastic patrons from around the world. The accommodation options in Björkliden are many and varied. They have standard lodge rooms, cabins and even a mountain guesthouse (only reachable by snowmobile). Skiing is the main activity and beginners through to experts are welcome. There is a plethora of other activities on offer, all of which can be organised at the lodge. Snowmobiles, ski touring and Northern Lights safaris - you will not be bored!
