Africa’s spectacular “Rainbow Nation”, South Africa encapsulates an incredible range of experiences and adventures that makes it a hugely popular destination.
Cape Town is high on most visitor’s lists, and rightly so. With Table Mountain and the Cape of Good Hope so close to hand, the city makes a great base from which to head out and explore the Cape Winelands and the spectacular Garden Route. Further north, the desert landscapes of Namaqualand are turned the colours of the rainbow by the spring flowers, whilst the haunting Kalahari offers superb game viewing for those willing to venture up there.
The Eastern Cape is rich in safari parks, historical towns and the poignant reminders of the colonial wars that forged the cultural make-up of this diverse nation and KwaZulu Natal is perhaps, for many, one of the most beautiful parts of South Africa. Set before the towering spear barrier of the imposing Drakensberg Mountains, you can easily combine a visit to the famous battlefields with some excellent safari encounters and wild beach lodges.
Kruger National Park is another jewel in South Africa’s crown, with incredible game viewing in both the park and the private game reserves that border it, whilst a visit to Johannesburg offers an insight into South Africa’s often turbulent history and also its bright future. Rainbow Nation?…We prefer the tagline, ‘The World in One Country’.
