Enjoy a spectacular family adventure that combines some of the best that Nepal has to offer. A wonderful mix of moderate trekking, culture and lots of fun activities, it is a perfect introduction to this fascinating and beautiful country. Set against the backdrop of some of the most breathtaking mountain ranges on earth, you’ll experience river rafting and a chance to search for some of the rarest wildlife in Asia. Beginning in Nepal’s busy capital, you will fly to Bhaktapur to see some stunning examples of Newari architecture and to hike to the sacred site of Namobuddha. Flying on to the game rich setting of Chitwan National Park you will then go in search of rare rhinos, crocodiles and Bengal tiger, as you enjoy game drives amongst the World Heritage landscapes of Nepal’s first national sanctuary. Next, head to Pokhara and the mountain peaks of the towering Annapurnas. Amongst these stunning mountain landscapes you will have time to enjoy treks, colourful bazaars, picturesque lakes, peaceful monuments before heading on to the next stage of the adventure. An exciting yet easy rafting trip down the Seti River sees you camp along the riverside in a lovely safari camp. Finally, return to Kathmandu to explore the cities rich culture

DAY 1: ARRIVE KATHMANDU - BHAKTAPUR

DAY 1: ARRIVE KATHMANDU - BHAKTAPUR
Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer on to your comfortable boutique hotel in Bhaktapur. The Heritage Hotel is in keeping with the Newari-style and is influenced by the rich art and architecture of the ancient city of Bhaktapur.
DAY 2: BHAKTAPUR

DAY 2: BHAKTAPUR
This morning you will embark on a sightseeing tour of Bhaktapur, also known as the 'City of Devotees' to see some of the finest examples of Newari stone, wood sculptures and architecture in Nepal. Walk along the cobbled streets to visit the Lion Gate, the Art Gallery, the famous Golden Gate and the Palace of Fifty-five Windows. The afternoon is at leisure to enjoy this well-preserved town.
DAY 3: BHAKTAPUR

DAY 3: BHAKTAPUR
Today will be spent hiking to Namobuddha (1,700m), a sacred site steeped in legend which draws reverent pilgrims from far and wide. Begin with an hour's drive to the trek's starting point, Tudhikhel (1,600m) from where a rough trail climbs steeply to Kavre, a substantial village which lends its name to this district. Pass through forested areas and scattered villages inhabited by Brahmins Chhetris, Tamangs and Newars. Depending on the weather, you may have good views of Gang Chenpo (6390m), Dorje Lhakpa (6990m), Purbi Chyachu (6658m) and Gauri Sanker (2145m) peaks. Namobuddha has a small village around the stupa and the top of the hill is adorned with prayer flags, chortens and a monastery. Legend has it that a Boddhisatva sacrificed himself here to a starving tigress to feed her and her cubs.
DAY 4: BHAKTAPUR - KATHMANDU - BHARATPUR - CHITWAN

DAY 4: BHAKTAPUR - KATHMANDU - BHARATPUR - CHITWAN
This morning you will transfer to Kathmandu airport to fly to Bharatpur your gateway into the rich landscapes of Chitwan National Park. On arrival you will be meet and transferred to Barahi Jungle Lodge in Chitwan National Park. With over 700 species of flora and fauna calling Chitwan home, the park is a haven for all manner of wildlife. Morning game drive providing a chance to spot some of the 68 species of mammals on show, including striped hyenas, honey badgers, spotted deer and the majestic Bengal tiger, the true king of this landscape. Chitwan is also home to the largest population of Indian rhinoceros in the country, with an estimated 600 plus animals' resident within the park. This afternoon is then free to partake in some optional excursions or go on a safari.
DAY 5: CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK

DAY 5: CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK
This morning you will embark on a nature walk in the park, the perfect opportunity to discover some of the rich varieties of birds that call Chitwan home. With over 270 different species recorded here, the park is a real bird watchers paradise. This afternoon then provides a chance for a gentle canoe ride down the Rapti River, the perfect setting from which to observe life along the banks, with mugger and gharial crocodile's regular visitors to the water's edge.
DAY 6: CHITWAN - POKHARA

DAY 6: CHITWAN - POKHARA
This morning provides an opportunity to embark on one last safari in Chitwan National Park before catching a flight to Pokhara. Lying along the shores of Phewa Tal, Nepal's second largest lake, Pokhara sits in the shadow of the impressive “Fishtail” mountain of Machhapuchhare and is surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Annapurnas. The rest of the day is at leisure.
DAY 7: POKHARA

DAY 7: POKHARA
This morning you will go on a tour of the World Peace Pagoda, built by Nipponzan Fujii after the Second World War. A Buddhist monk from Japan and founder of the Nipponzan-Myohoji Buddhist Order, Fujii was greatly inspired by his meeting with Mahatma Gandhi in 1931 and decided to devote his life to promoting non-violence. This afternoon, embark on a sightseeing tour beginning with Devi's Fall steeped in legend and mystery. Next, view the impressive Seti River, which flows right through the city, from Mahendra Pul bridge. Continue to the Pokhara's traditional, colorful bazaar and one of Pokhara' s most important shrines, dedicated to Goddess Bhagwati, yet another manifestation of Shakti. Finally, visit Fewa Lake, the second largest lake in the Kingdom, where you will sail or row a hired boat across to the water or visit the island temple in its middle.
DAY 8: POKHARA - SETI RIVER CAMP

DAY 8: POKHARA - SETI RIVER CAMP
After breakfast transfer through the countryside to Damauli. Meet your experienced boat crew for a briefing before taking to your raft down the Seti River. The river and surrounding valley has no road access so it remain unspoilt and floating down the river gives you a chance to see village life along the banks as well as the abundant variety of birds. Stop en route for a picnic lunch and then tackle the rapids, no more than grade 2 and no longer than 50 metres. Following approximately 3 hours of rafting and floating, you will arrive at your safari style tented camp.
DAY 9: SETI RIVER CAMP - GAI GHAT - KATHMANDU

DAY 9: SETI RIVER CAMP - GAI GHAT - KATHMANDU
The morning is spent rafting, with 4 class 2 rapids along the way but, again, no longer than 50 metres. The rest of the journey you will float leisurely past the surrounding countryside. Rafting time will be 2 to 3 hours depending on water levels. Once back ashore, you will be transferred by vehicle to Dwarika's Hotel in Kathmandu. Dwarika is a stunning heritage property with every brick being handmade, beautifully carved woodwork and 16th century windows.
DAY 10: KATHMANDU

DAY 10: KATHMANDU
Enjoy a full day's guided tour of the Nepalese capital today, taking in the famous historical monuments constructed by Newar artisans under the Malla Dynasty in the 14th century. Visit the present temple, restored by King Mahendra Malla in 1562, and the royal palace in Durbar Square, guarded by a statue of Hanuman, the Monkey God. Stop at the House of the Living Goddess where the virgin goddess known as Kumari resides on the exquisitely carved windows of the upper floor. You'll also visit the golden-topped stupa of Swayambunath (The Monkey Temple), more that 2500 years old, and the site of Pashupatinath, the holiest Hindu temple in the Kathmandu Valley, situated beside the sacred waters of the Bagmati River. In the afternoon, you will tour around Patan City, a city of arts and architecture founded in 250 A.D. See the Durbar Square, Royal Baths, Mahaboudha, Krishna Mandir and Hiranya Verna Mahabihar (the Golden Temple). Finally, you will visit the Patan Museum, set within the former Malla residential palace.
DAY 11: DEPART KATHMANDU

DAY 11: DEPART KATHMANDU
Depart for the transfer back to Kathmandu Airport for your onward international flight.
SUGGESTED ACCOMMODATION
Seti River Camp, Seti River
Comprising of sixteen safari style tents, each with a veranda and en suite bathroom with running hot water. The staff are attentive and extremely friendly, even bringing tea and coffee to the tents every morning. Food is delicious and served buffet style in the dining tent with the other guests. There are also hammocks around the camp and a fire pit that is lit nightly. Located by the river in Nepal's verdant forests near Pokhara, the white-water rafting is fantastic. The rapids are gentle, and it is very much a relaxing experience, and guests are accompanied by experienced river guides at all times. Local villages are also within walking distance of the camp, so guests can wander down for a glimpse of the local culture.
Dwarika's Hotel, Kathmandu
Dwarika’s Hotel is a stunning 5* star traditional Newari-style property that oozes charm. Located in Kathmandu the hotel is within easy reach of the spectacular Boudhanath stupa and the Pashupatinath temple complex. The property itself features a mix of woodwork and artefacts salvaged from temple and house restorations. Temple Tree Resort, Pokhara
Temple Tree Resort is a boutique hotel nestled by the Phewa Lake in the Pokhara Valley, framed by majestic peaks and foothills of the Annapurna Mountain Range. The rooms are situated in two-storey, hand-cut stone cottages and feature beautifully decorated timber pillars and struts.
