DAY 1: MARRAKECH - IMLIL

DAY 1: MARRAKECH - IMLIL
You'll be met by a Wild Frontiers representative in Marrakech who will transfer you to the high peaks of the Atlas Mountains and the small village of Imlil. The rugged terrain has a beauty all of its own and walking is an ideal way to enjoy and appreciate this stunning area. Enjoy some walks in the area or relax at your accommodation for the afternoon.
DAY 2: IMLIL - OUIRGANE

DAY 2: IMLIL - OUIRGANE
Enjoy a morning exploring the local villages and mountain paths with your experienced guide. This afternoon you will then drive on to the rusty red valley of Ouirgane, located in the foothills of the High Atlas.
DAY 3: OUIRGANE - IJOUKAK - TIN MAL - TAROUDANT

DAY 3: OUIRGANE - IJOUKAK - TIN MAL - TAROUDANT
Driving over the Tizin'Test Pass this morning, you'll spend a little time walking in the Ouirgane Valley, before continuing on to the potter's village of Ijoukak. Stopping to enjoy lunch here with a local family, you'll then pay a visit to the Tin Mal Mosque before driving over the stunning Tichka Plateau and into the lush valleys beyond. Your destination today is the market town of Taroudant, the 'Pearl of the Sous'.
DAY 4: TAROUDANT - TATA

DAY 4: TAROUDANT - TATA
After a chance to take a short wander through the ancient medina and souk of Taroudant, you then take the spectacular road through the Anti-Atlas Mountains and on to Tata. Stopping along the way to enjoy the scenery, on arrival in Tata you'll pay a visit the Palmeraie with a local guide, before finishing the evening at the hotel in time for dinner and a relaxing evening.
DAY 5: TATA - FOUM ZGUID - ERG CHIGAGA

DAY 5: TATA - FOUM ZGUID - ERG CHIGAGA
A morning at leisure provides the opportunity to pay a visit to a local co-operative, before leaving around midday for the drive through Foum Zguid to the mesmerising dunes of Chigaga. Arriving amongst the golden sands of the Sahara, this evening you will enjoy dinner and a bivouac beneath the stars at a luxury desert camp.
DAY 6: ERG CHIGAGA - M'HAMID - ZAGORA

DAY 6: ERG CHIGAGA - M'HAMID - ZAGORA
Waking with the dawn this morning, you'll watch the sunrise over the dunes of the Sahara before taking a camel ride across the desert. Continuing by road on through M'Hamid, where you will stop for lunch you then have a chance to visit the potteries and ancient library of Tamegroute, before reaching the oasis town of Zagora, where you will spend the evening.
DAY 7: ZAGORA - AGDZ

DAY 7: ZAGORA - AGDZ
This morning you will continue through the Draa Valley onto the oasis town of Agdz. Explore one of the palmeries here and learn about the agricultural industries that are at the heart of this valley. This afternoon is then free to relax in your beautiful Kasbah.
DAY 8: AGDZ - OUARZAZATE - AIT BEN HADDOU

DAY 8: AGDZ - OUARZAZATE - AIT BEN HADDOU
Continue your journey, stopping in Ouarzazate to visit its splendid Kasbah built in the early 20th century. About 20km northwest from here, up on a dramatic hillside, is the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most splendid kasbahs in the country. Built on a rock beside a shallow river, its marvellous architecture and preserved state has made it the setting of choice for films such as 'Lawrence of Arabia' or 'Jewel of the Nile'.
DAY 9: AIT BEN HADDOU - TELOUET - MARRAKECH

DAY 9: AIT BEN HADDOU - TELOUET - MARRAKECH
Visit Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou this morning, a great opportunity to appreciate and explore the intricacies and atmosphere of a crumbling clay Kasbah village up-close. Winding through the narrow alleyways you will come to the granary of the top where you'll be rewarded with clear views across the valley. The journey then continues to Telouet, known as the road of slaves, to visit the Kasbah of El Glaoui. From here it's back into the mountains for a stunning drive over the High Atlas via the Tiz-n-Tichka Pass (2260 m), the highest in the country. Back down on the plains, arrive in fabled Marrakesh with plenty of time to check into your hotel and enjoy a drink.
DAY 10: MARRAKECH: MEDINA WALKING TOUR

DAY 10: MARRAKECH: MEDINA WALKING TOUR
A full day's walking tour of the Medina takes you through a labyrinth of narrow alleyways, filled with the colours and aromas of one of Morocco's most engaging cities. Emerging from the Dyers' Souk into the clamour of Marrakech's famous Djemaa el Fna Square, you'll take in a scene straight out of the Arabian Nights. This is the beating heart of the city and you'll have time to wander or just enjoy the scene from one of the square's roof top cafes.
DAY 11: DEPART MARRAKECH

You'll be transferred today to Marrakech airport in time to catch your onward flight.
SUGGESTED ACCOMMODATION
Douar Samra Guest House
The Douar Samra is situated at an altitude at 1850 m in the Atlas Mountains, 20 minute walk or mule ride from the village of Imlil, which is 90 minute drive from Marrakech. Integrated into a traditional Berber village made up of thirty or so traditional stone and rammed-earth dwellings, the Douar Samra has been carefully restored using ancient, traditional methods. The residence has been decorated and furnished to reflect Berber living and consequently the style is simple with all furnishings, rugs and coverings sourced from local craftsmen. There are 10 bedrooms distributed in three different buildings, each with its own bathroom, some with fireplace or with balcony. In keeping with the natural feel, the rooms in the main building don't have lights or electricity and the candle-lit evenings add to the warm atmosphere. The Douar Samra has a roof terrace with spectacular panoramic views, a hammam, and serves traditional Berber cuisine prepared and cooked to the highest standard.
Kasbah Azul
Located in the sprawling palm grove of the Draa Valley, Kasbah Azul is an oasis of tranquillity set on a hectare of private property and combining natural building materials, oriental design and modern interiors. It comprises of 7 spacious bright rooms and suites with private temperature control and en suite bathrooms. Each is characterised by warm colours and simple elegance. A local vegetable and fruit garden produces the basis for the subtle French-Moroccan fusion cuisines served at the Kasbah. Meals can be enjoyed in the shade of the Palm trees, by the swimming pool or in one the cosy living rooms. Wi-Fi is available free of charge.
Dar Infiane
Surrounded by palm trees, the Dar Infiane guest house lies in the heart of the Tata palmerie just outside the town itself. Built 500 years ago, the building has been restored to this comfortable guest house but has kept many original features such as the low doorways and wooden beams. The 10 guest rooms each have their own authentic character and design, and each has a private en suite bathroom, air conditioning and heating. The guest house has various little terraces where guests can sit and enjoy the Moroccan cuisine or simply watch over the palmerie.
Riad Lamane
In the heart of the Draa Oasis, the Riad Lamane is shaded by palm trees just a mile outside of the town of Zagora itself. The guest rooms are a mixture of traditional rooms, bungalows and Berber or African themed tents. All the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the bungalows and tents are spread around the gardens offering privacy and a quiet escape. Meals are served in either the restaurant or the traditional desert tent by the outdoor pool, and there is a mixture of Moroccan and Berber dishes on offer.
Dar Zitoune
The comfortable Dar Zitoune is ideal for anyone seeking peace and quiet within the city of Taroudant. The hotel is tucked away amongst olive, papaya and citrus trees and has a wellness centre to ensure the ultimate tranquillity during your stay. The hotel is designed in a Berber style using locally sourced materials to create fourteen Bungalows and ten Suites – equipped with a shower, private terrace and ai-conditioning. Recently, the hotel has extended to create a Berber village within its grounds consisting of ten Deluxe tented rooms. The new Veranda hotel provides panoramic views of the garden paired with traditional Moroccan cuisine and European dishes. The excellent food can also be enjoyed in the Moroccan lounge or terrace overlooking the heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi. The spa has a Hammam, massage room, sauna and beauty treatments.
Riad Monceau
Located just off Djemaa El Fna square of Marrakech, the luxury traditional Riad Monceau is a fantastic option whether you are recovering from a flight or exploring the city further. The original Riad dates back to the 18th Century and is a beautiful example of Hispano-Moorish architecture. Following a renovation in 2002, the exquisite building now boasts luxury amenities and comforts. There are only ten rooms, all featuring jacuzzi baths. The owner is an artist and you will see examples of her work around the building, designed to complement the traditional mosaics and intricate reliefs. The refreshing pool is paved with Carrara marble and has views of the Koutoubia mosque. The luxury spa is a highlight with massage rooms, a gorgeous Hamman and a roof-top jacuzzi terrace. Food is a key focus at the Riad Monceau and guests can participate in MarrakChef cooking workshops to delve deeper into the delicious cuisine of Morocco served by celebrity Chef Rachida Sahnoune at the on-site restaurant. ***Guests staying at the hotel get a 20% off on the gastronomic restaurant’s tasting menu and a 15% off on all cooking classes.
Ksar Ighnda
Located on the edge of the desert, close to the UNESCO fortified town of Ait Ben Haddou, Ksar Ighnda is a palatial luxury riad. The property is surrounded by private gardens and boasts a sparkling outdoor swimming pool and a Hammam. All of the en-suite rooms are decorated in an individual style and have views. These are comprised of Standard rooms as well as larger Superior and Suite rooms with views of the desert and Atlas mountains. There is a restaurant and bar on-site.
