Beginning with two nights in the bustling capital, you’ll have ample opportunity to soak up the energy and culture of Mexico City, before heading on towards the famous pyramids of Teotihuacán. The journey north then continues on towards the captivating colonial towns of San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato, where you can enjoy elegant lunches, private tequila tastings and UNESCO world treasures.
Moving on to the energetic city of Guadalajara, you then have some time to take in the breathless splendour of Lake Chapala and its engaging artisan communities, before a VIP visit to the town of Tequila provides a typical Jaliscan lunch and a chance to taste some of the famous local produce. A fabulous cultural and scenic adventure through one of Mexico’s most authentic regions, you might want to consider finishing it off with a few nights on the beach at Punta Mita.

On arrival in Mexico City you will be met by your local guide and transferred to a luxurious hotel in the heart of the most cosmopolitan area of the city.

Today presents a chance to discover a little of the rich cultural heritage of Mexico's vibrant capital. Touring through the historic quarter of the city, your day includes a visit to the renowned National Anthropology Museum in the company of an expert guide. Home to one of the largest Mesoamerican collections in the world, the tour includes an exploration of the remarkable contents of its Aztec and Maya rooms, which you will visit before moving on to explore the city's stunning Centro Histórico (historic centre).
DAY 3: MEXICO CITY - TEOTIHUACAN - SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE

DAY 3: MEXICO CITY - TEOTIHUACAN - SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE
Departing Mexico City after breakfast, head next to the famous ruins of Teotihuacan, the mysterious 'City of the Gods' that contains the famed sun and the moon pyramids. A UNESCO World Heritage site, Teotihuacan was once one of the most powerful cultural centres in Mesoamerica and a guided tour of the site provides fascinating insight into its origins. Following lunch at a local restaurant, you then continue on to the beautiful colonial town of San Miguel de Allende.

Another of Mexico's World Heritage treasures, a walking tour of the city this morning reveals a little something of the town's colourful and art-filled city centre. Steeped in the lore and history of the country's independence movement, the modern-day city still exudes a lively energy and spirit of freedom. A visit to the historic Casa Dragones this evening then combines a unique insight into this glorious 17th century house with a chance to experience a private tequila tasting presentation.
DAY 5: SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE

DAY 5: SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE
Enjoy a full day's excursion to Guanajuato today, to discover its rich colonial heritage and its historic silver mines. In the company of an expert guide, you'll take a walking tour through its streets, winding your way past historic landmarks and exploring the subterranean passages. The thriving downtown area is filled with interesting shops and the delicate aromas of cooking provide tempting invitations into the local eateries. Stopping off to enjoy lunch at the famed El Jardin de los Milagros, you then return to San Miguel later this afternoon.
DAY 6: SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE - LAGOS DE MORENO

Continuing through the Central Highlands today, your journey takes you on to the quaint town of Lagos de Moreno next. The self-styled 'Athens of Jalisco', on account of the number of writers and poets who were born here, the city was named after one of the founding fathers of Mexican independence and, on arrival, you will have the rest of the day to enjoy the relaxing calm of your charming overnight hacienda.
DAY 7: LAGOS DE MORENO - GUADALAJARA

DAY 7: LAGOS DE MORENO - GUADALAJARA
The first stop today will be at Tlaquepaque, where you have an opportunity to experience some typical artisan culture. The town's main thoroughfare is lined with old colonial houses that have been converted into galleries, museums and gift shops, providing a pleasant stop before continuing on to Guadalajara. Arguably the most authentic city in Mexico, Guadalajara is home to some truly beautiful treasures including the Palacio de Gobierno, the Minerva Fountain and the Plaza Tapatia.
DAY 8: GUADALAJARA

Today's tour takes in the nearby beauty of Chapala Lake, Mexico's largest freshwater lake, and the pleasant towns of Chula Vista and Ajijic. Situated on the northern shores of the lake, this riviera community is known for its artists, exhibitions and mariachi musicians.
DAY 9: GUADALAJARA

Your last full day in Mexico sees you enjoying a VIP visit to the bustling town of Tequila. Beginning this morning with a chance to participate in the agave harvest, you'll then move on to a tasting session at a local distillery, before enjoying a typical Jaliscan lunch. Further tasting sessions this afternoon at the most celebrated barrel blender in the industry are then followed by a walking tour of the historic centre of the town, before you return to Guadalajara for your final evening.
DAY 10: GUADALAJARA - DEPART MEXICO CITY

Transfer to the airport this morning for the return flight back to Mexico City.
