Example Itinerary
This is an example itinerary. Our experts have all travelled widely in the region and will be happy to tailor any of our itineraries to suit your tastes and budget, or build a trip from scratch.
Day 1 ARRIVE TEL AVIV
Arrive into Tel Aviv airport, where you will be met by a Wild Frontiers representative and transferred to your hotel.
Day 2 TEL AVIV – AKKO – NAZARETH – SAFED
Start your morning with a visit to Jaffa, the oldest seaport in the world and home to some fascinating history. From here you then set off north to the ancient crusader port and capital of Akko, where you can spend some time exploring the old city and the vast crusader halls and the secret tunnel connecting them. Continue on to Nazareth where you can visit the Church of the Annunciation, before reaching the picturesque predominantly Jewish hilltop village of Safed, one of Judaism’s holiest, to check into your boutique hotel, hidden away in the Artists’ Quarter.
Day 3 SAFED: NAHAL AMUD HIKE
Today you will discover some of Israel’s natural charms by exploring the beautiful Amud Stream Nature Reserve on foot. Home to moss-covered caves and miniature waterfalls leading to numerous secret little pools, this tranquil area also offers some fascinating history. The river used to provide water for the holy city during the time of the British Mandate and therefore along the route you’ll come across the ruins of the old police station, pumping station and flour mill.
Day 4 SAFED – TIBERIAS – JERICHO
Say goodbye to the idyllic Safed and set off for Jericho today. En route stop and visit Tiberias, exploring Capernaum (House of St. Peter) and Tabgha (Church of the Miracle of the Fish and Loaves), before enjoying a boat ride on the historic Sea of Galilee. Continue on to Jericho, located below sea level within an oasis in the Jordan Valley, making it the lowest city in the world. Here you’ll head to the imposing Mount of Temptations, the supposed site where Jesus was tempted by the Devil. A cable car ride up the mountain allows you to explore the monastery here, before spending some time discovering Hisham’s Palace.
Day 5 JERICHO – WADI QELT HIKE – DEAD SEA – MASADA
You discover the landscapes of the Judaean Desert this morning, starting with a stunning walk through Wadi Qelt, a dramatic canyon containing trickling springs and picturesque pools. Your journey then takes you south along the Jordan Valley to the banks of the Dead Sea, where you will relax on the beach and float in the famous salty waters. Later in the afternoon continue on to Masada.
Day 6 MASADA SUNRISE HIKE – RAMON CRATER
Travel along hilly terrain as you enter the heart of the desert. On this site once stood a magnificent palace, sitting on a lofty plateau overlooking the Dead Sea and the untamed landscape of the Judean Desert. Here you will walk up the snake path to reach Masada for sunrise and then take the cable car down. The history of the fort is incredible, you can still see the Roman forts and ramparts that were used to take this formidable fortress. From here you drive south to Ramon Crater where you will explore the area by 4x4 and learn about some of the geological history here.
Day 7 RAMON CRATER - AVDAT HIKE – LAQIYA WEAVING CENTRE - JERUSALEM
Rise with the sun once again as you enjoy stunning views over the crater. After breakfast, set off on a short hike in Avdat National Park, located just north of the crater. From here you’ll continue on to Be’er Sheva and visit the Bedouin village of Laqiya, where you’ll get the opportunity to meet with some of the local women and learn about their social enterprise focused on the preservation of traditional wool spinning and hand-loom weaving techniques. After lunch, drive on to Jerusalem.
Day 8 JERUSALEM & BETHLEHEM
Today you'll experience just some of what makes Jerusalem not only the cultural and spiritual centre of the Jewish people but also indisputably significant to both Islam and Christianity. One of the oldest cities in the world, the ‘City of Gold’ is a fascinatingly unique place where the first century rubs shoulders with the twenty-first century. After a panoramic view of the city from the Mount of Olives you’ll enjoy an offbeat walking tour within the walls of the Old City. This afternoon then visit Bethlehem, home of Church of the Nativity. Visit the Walled-Off Hotel - whose tagline is the 'The Best hotel With The Worst View' - which contains an interesting museum about the separation wall and the whole Palestinian/Israeli conflict. Return to Jerusalem for your final evening.
Day 9 DEPART JERUSALEM
You will be collected from your hotel today and driven to the airport in time to catch your onward flight.

Positive Impact of this Trip
Making a Difference
Community Tourism
People and local communities have always been at the heart of Wild Frontiers and the travel experiences we offer. Through community tourism we have the opportunity to generate real positive impact, supporting people we visit through sustainable local development, and in turn help to alleviate poverty and protect culture and environments in often more vulnerable destinations. While doing so, our clients gain richer travel experiences and more meaningful connections with the people they meet.
Conservation and Climate Action
As a travel company, we hold a responsibility to minimise our environmental footprint and contribute to sustainability, and work closely with local communities to support their efforts. By implementing initiatives such as carbon measuring, tree-planting, reducing single-use plastic and promoting eco-friendly practices, we can help mitigate the negative impacts of tourism on fragile ecosystems and local communities. Additionally, prioritising conservation efforts helps preserve natural habitats and wildlife, ensuring that future generations can continue to enjoy the wonders of our planet.
Wild Frontiers Foundation
The Wild Frontiers Foundation aims to provide a platform to create awareness, raise money and deliver funding to projects in countries where we operate as a travel company. Through the foundation, we are able to channel money into grass roots projects, which we have either established ourselves or support through charity partners. These include initiatives focused around education, the empowerment of local people and community conservation.
