Day 1 Delhi: Arrival
Arrive in Delhi and transfer to your hotel in the village area of Hauz Khas, this afternoon you may like to head out for a walk in the nearby deer park where you will find an old fort.

Day 2 Delhi – Corbett National Park
Leave Delhi this morning on your drive to Corbett National Park, arriving in the afternoon the remainder of the day is at leisure, perhaps to use the pool or there is also a library where you can read up on the wildlife you will hope to spot in the park.

Day 3 Corbett National Park: Jeep Safaris
The first national park in India, Corbett covers over 500 square km and includes forests, grasslands and a large lake. Heading out on morning and afternoon safaris will give you an excellent chance of spotting some of the wildlife the park is known for. Home to populations of elephant, tigers, leopards and cats, as well as bears, pangolin and crocodiles your naturalist will help you comb the forests looking for animals.

Day 4 Corbett National Park: Jeep Safaris
The park is also home to nearly 600 species of birds that live year round or migrate through the park, today your safaris ill concentrate on birdlife and hopefully you will spot some of the eagles, parakeet, jungle fowl and flycatchers. Between safaris you can rest at the lodge or perhaps enjoy a treatment in the spa.

Day 5 Corbett National Park – Kaladhungi – Chuka: Riverside Camp
Your journey today takes you to the town of Kaladhungi where Jim Corbett lived, his house is now a dedicated museum which you can visit. Despite having killed many tigers responsible for the deaths of people, Jim Corbett was an advocate for protecting wildlife in India and Africa. In the town you may also visit the oldest iron foundry in India as the town is known for its black stones rich in iron content. Continue on to the remote village of Chuka in the Kali Kumaon where you will take a walk this afternoon.

Day 6 Chuka: Mountain Wilderness Hike
Head higher in to the hills today as you hike to a remote campsite near Thak, exploring the remote village and mountain wilderness with magnificent views of the Mahakali River valley below. Your campsite for the night will be basic wild camp with views over the forested hills and valley.

Day 7 Chuka: Mountain Wilderness Hike
Descending back to Chuka today you will follow an ancient bridleway taking you through forest and scrub jungle. Spend another night at the lodge over looking the river, the area is rich in biodiversity with numerous species of animals and birds.

Day 8 Chuka: Piliibhit Tiger Reserve
Head to Pilibhit Tiger Reserve today for morning and afternoon jeep safaris. The park is home to thick forest and terai grasslands providing an excellent habitat for a variety of mammals including deer, bears, tigers, leopards and many cats. There are also over 450 species of bird recorded in the reserve.

Day 9 Chuka – Bardia National Park (Nepal):
Saying farewell to India today you will head to the border and cross in to Nepal, here meet your Nepalese driver and guide and transfer to Bardia National Park. Arriving at the park mid afternoon you will have time to take part in one of the activities, perhaps a river safari or some bird watching. Alternatively you may like to relax and watch the sunset with a sundowner in hand after the journey.

Day 10 Bardia National Park: Jeep Safari & Bird Watching
Your safari today sees you heading out to track tigers, elephants and the rare one-horned rhinos in the cool early morning air. Your experienced naturalist will take you around the park stopping at watch towers, riverbanks and watering holes in the hopes of spotting the abundant wildlife. This afternoon head out on a bird watching walk, there are chances of spotting birds such as the critically endangered Bengal florican and the bar-headed goose, the symbol of the park.

Day 11 Bardia National Park: Jeep & River Safaris
Take another jeep safari this morning, penetrating deep into the park to spot the various animals and birds. Change to another pace this afternoon and set out on the water, rafting down the wide river allows you the chance to see some of the park’s aquatic life including gharials and muggers as well as an array of birdlife. There is also the opportunity to explore some of the communities around the park and take a village or farm visit.

Day 12 Bardia National Park – Lumbini: Holy Buddhist Sites
There is time for a jungle activity before breakfast this morning and then you will take a long drive to Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha. Your journey will take you via the Jagdishpur Reservoir, the largest in Nepal and home to a number of endangered bird species. Stop to visit the archaeological site of Tilaurakot, the childhood home of Prince Siddartha and from where he left to begin his journey to enlightenment.

Day 13 Lumbini – Chitwan National Park: Safari & Village Walk
You will arrive in Chitwan in time for lunch and to take part in an activity. Chitwan was the first national park established in Nepal and is home to 70 species of mammals and over 500 species of birds. This afternoon you can head out in to the park on a safari or perhaps learn about the local Tharu culture by taking a walking tour in one of the villages nearby.

Day 14 Chitwan National Park: Nature Walk & Canoe Trip
Set off on foot this morning, nature walk is the perfect way to take in the sounds and scents of the jungle. With your naturalist you will be able to spot some of the many species that reside here year round and pass through on their migratory paths including a number of eagles, sunbirds, babblers and darters. A canoe trip down the Rapti River this afternoon allows more time to enjoy the peace of the park, spot more birds and perhaps some mugger and gharial crocodiles.

Day 15 Chitwan National Park – Kathmandu: Morning Safari
A morning safari in the park will be a final chance to tick off some of the large mammals such as tigers, rhinos and leopards, as well as the smaller mammals, the deer, cats, foxes and monkeys. before you set off on the journey to Kathmandu. Check-in to your hotel and there will be time if you wish to take a walk in the city this afternoon before a final dinner in a local restaurant.

Day 16 Kathmandu: Departure
Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
EXAMPLE ACCOMMODATION
Jim's Jungle Retreat, Corbett National Park
Jim's Jungle Retreat is a slightly alternative camp option in the area, about half an hour from the main park entrance. The hotel is based about 15km from the main entrance to the National Park but is in a great location, allowing wildlife and bird life to enter the grounds. The hotel focuses on nature and offers very comfortable lodgings in the form of rooms and tents.The newer 'Jungle lodges' are first floor rooms with 3 sided verandas, and are set away from the main restaurant area and pool but are slightly more modern and luxurious. The hotel offers nature packages, with nature walks, bird watching and also visits into the National Park. This is a great option offering a taste of camping luxury in very natural surroundings.
Dwarika's Hotel, Kathmandu
Dwarika’s Hotel is a stunning 5* star traditional Newari-style property that oozes charm. Located in Kathmandu the hotel is within easy reach of the spectacular Boudhanath stupa and the Pashupatinath temple complex. The property itself features a mix of woodwork and artefacts salvaged from temple and house restorations. Dwarika’s 86 spacious and luxurious rooms and suites are decorated in Newari style and the hotel pool and grounds are a tranquil haven and a perfect place to relax. A Himalayan spa is also on site and offers a range of wonderful treatments for guests to enjoy at their own leisure. The hotel’s restaurants and bar each offer a variety of culinary experiences for you to choose from.
Tiger Tops Tharu Lodge, Chitwan National Park
Tiger Tops Tharu is nestled between lush forests whilst overlooking the idyllic Terai landscapes and is the perfect location to relax and unwind. The lodge is built from local materials and emulates a longhouse style of Tharu architecture, providing guests with a well-balanced wilderness retreat, being both quiet yet captivating. Tiger Tops is made up of 21 spacious guest rooms that come equipped with ensuite bathroom facilities and complimentary Wi-Fi as well as an inclusive breakfast and free parking. Guests can dine al fresco and enjoy a selection of Nepali and Continental dishes, take a refreshing dip in the garden side pool or spend the afternoon relaxing in a hammock whilst enjoying the tranquil surroundings.
Tiger Tops Karnali Lodge, Bardia National Park
Karnali lodge is a specialist wildlife safari lodge located at the periphery of Bardia National Park, Nepal's' largest and most preserved wilderness area. The lodge's main focus is on privacy and calm and consists of 20 spacious simple rooms decorated with soothing natural colours, soft fabrics and ensuite bathroom facilities. The rooms have been designed using local materials to minimize their impact on the environment and the lodge runs almost entirely on solar energy. Karnali is also committed to responsible tourism and is close to self-sufficient, providing an abundance of fresh produce from their organic vegetable garden for guests to enjoy.
Haveli Hauz Khas, Delhi
The Haveli Hauz Khas is an intimate 5-room guesthouse, not too far from the airport in Delhi. All the rooms have private bathrooms and air conditioning, and are characterful with a modern bohemian style accompanied by gorgeous Indian furnishings. The guesthouse is located in a quiet part of South Delhi and is a short walk from the vibrant Hauz Khas Market. With such a small number of rooms, it offers personalised and friendly service, including a delicious home-cooked breakfast. The communal spaces are full of the owner's wonderful collection of art and antiques. There is no pool or spa, but the intimacy of this home-away-from-home and its central location makes it a wonderful option for Delhi.
Chuka Riverside Lodge, Chuka
Set in the remote village of Chuka on the banks of the Mahakali River, overlooking western Nepal, the Chuka Riverside Lodge is a simple property consisting of 4 safari tents, a bathroom block and a dining tent. Each of the safari tents comes with two beds, simple furniture and a carpeted floor there are separate shared bathrooms in a small block. Guests take their meals together under the canopy of the dining tent or out in the open by the river enjoying the sunset. The area is awash with wildlife and provides great hiking and birding.
