India: Hills of Merwar Horse Safari

Overview:

Using our deep-rooted connections with Rawla Narendra Singh and his charming family at Castle Bijaipur, we have put together a new and improved eight-day ride from Chittorgarh to Udaipur that will show you India at its most natural and magical.

Riding the fabulous Marwari horse, a breed renowned for its grace, elegance and exotic beauty, you will travel through the southern fringes of the Aravelli Hills – a region famed for high plains and plateaux, forests of juniper, unspoilt rural villages, lakes and ancient temples – making it the perfect location for such a trek.

Before starting the ride there will be chance to enjoy a couple of Rajasthan’s highlights; the Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri before heading to Ranthambore in search of the elusive tiger.

Highlights:

  • Riding through wonderful countryside on the fabulous Marwari horses
  • The iconic Taj Mahal
  • Tracking tigers in Ranthambore National Park
  • Homestays with yesterday's Royals
  • Udaipur, Venice of the east

Tour Includes:

  • Full services of a Wild Frontiers Tour Leader with local guides and drivers
  • 14 breakfasts, 14 lunches, 14 dinners (typically in local restaurants where viable)
  • All transport included (train, coaster buses, 4WD, vintage jeeps… and of course your Marwari steed.)
  • 14 nights accommodation (12 in hotels and heritage properties, 1 in a tented-camp, 1 in a safari mobile camp)

Kanha National Park is a great place for tiger spotting but also a beautiful park, resembling an English meadow.
