Lalibela Hudad is a community based guesthouse set in the hills outside of Lalibela near to the monastery of Asheton Maryam. Sustainable tourism, appreciation of the local culture and nature, fresh food and friendly service are some of the principles that inspire staff and community every day. There are currently four tukuls that can accommodate between 3 and 4 guests each and have basic sanitation facilities. Please note there is no electricity. Lalibela Hudad is a great respite or beginning point for the tour of the famous rock-hewn churches of Lalibela. Hiking programs, ancient village tours, and monastery visits can all be done from here. Please be aware the lodge cannot be accessed by vehicle, the last 15 minutes of the journey to this remote spot can only be reached by mule or foot. Just another thing that makes it that little bit special.
Wear slip on shoes - you're not allowed to wear them in the churches so you'll be taking them off a lot.
