Befiker Kossoye Ecology Lodge is located 30 km outside of the medieval historic city of Gonder with panoramic views of the Simien Mountains. The lodge has 14 simple guestrooms found in traditionally built cottages (tukuls). Guest rooms have twin beds and private en-suite adjoining bathrooms with shower, washbasin and toilet. There is also a characterful bar and restaurant with an open log fire every night. Kossoye Lodge is ideal either as a base for a full day visit to the Simien Mountains National Park or for those looking for a rural community experience within half an hour from Gonder. The lodge has been built by the local community and their involvement is felt throughout the lodge. Guests can learn about making injera, take part in the daily coffee ceremony or visit the local market. There are also a number of excellent walking trails which can be enjoyed from the lodge with a good change of seeing Gelada baboons.
When you are in Gondar - go for dinner at the Four Sisters restaurant. This is a wonderful locally- run authentic spot, which serves great food and a lively atmosphere.
