Day 1
This morning the tour will start in Paro. We will then transfer to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan.
Day 2
We have a full day to explore Thimphu with visits to the Cultural Heritage Museum, Takin Park, Dechen Phodrang Monastery supported by WF and the all important Dzong.
Day 3
Our scenic drive today takes us over the Dochu La Pass, through mountain forests to the Phobjika Valley in Gangtey.
Day 4
Today we stroll from Gangtey Monastery through the local villages in the Phobjika Valley taking in the lifestyle and culture of the people.
Day 5
We drive via Trongsa visiting the monastery and later a a local textile outlet en route to the Bumthang region where we spend the next few nights.
Day 6
Today we will walk to Kharsumphey and Tamshing villages with good views of Kurje Lhakhang on the other side of the Chamkhar River and enjoy a local style lunch at a farm.
Day 7
A full day's hike today will take us between two of the Bumthang valleys passing Padselling Monastery on our way to the Tang Valley and our homestay.
Day 8
Our challenging yet rewarding trek today will take us to Thowadra Monastery 'highest rock' at an altitude of 3400m where we will enjoy a well earned picnic lunch.
Day 9
Our long drive today will take us via Trongsa - home to a magnificently located dzong, to the old capital of Punakha.
Day 10
We take a beautiful walk this morning to a revered chorten and then visit the stunningly located Dzong in the old capital.
Day 11
Leaving Punakha behind we head back to Paro for an afternoon visit to "the fortress of the heap of jewels" otherwise known as Paro Dzong.
Day 12
Today we take a walk to visit the iconic Tiger's Nest monastery which hangs in the rocks above the valley, and later explore the town.
Day 13
The tour ends today in Paro. Depending on your flight departure time, there may be some time for last minute souvenir shopping before transferring to the airport,
