Journey to the San Blas Islands

17th March 2015

A three hour launch ride from Necoclí in a three metre swell made it quite an exciting trip! But it was more than worth it to then be able to enjoy the golden beaches of Capagurna, La Miel and Sapzurro for a couple of days. On Saturday we moved further along the coast, crossing the border at Puerto Obaldia into Panama. The quite tough three hour hike to the Kuna village of Armila soon paled into the memory as that evening, after a short walk down the beach, we came across two leatherback turtles. It was a truly wonderful experience and for many the highlight of the holiday so far.

A 45 minute charter flight brought us north west to the San Blas islands and we are now enjoying the culture and incredible beauty of the island of Wailidup – our very own tropical paradise.

Richard is currently leading our Colombia & Panama: Skirting the Darien Gap group tour.
