Jake

After studying Social Anthropology at The School of African & Oriental Studies and dark room photography in New York, Jake worked as a photo/picture researcher, taught English in Thailand and he currently works as a product manager in Phnom Penh. He’s lived in Bangkok, Taiwan, New York, London, Chiang Mai, and Bhutan.

His love affair with Asia began as soon as he stepped out of the taxi in a local Balinese neighbourhood and the travel bug took control of his life. After studying, Jake volunteered at Tourism Concern where he spent 6 months investigating Responsible Tourism and in particular the Human Right Abuses associated with tourism in Burma for Visit Myanmar in 1996.

Jake has been leading tours all over the world since 2001 to Central Asia, South East Asia, Africa and the Indian subcontinent and has set up tours in Cambodia, Madagascar and Papua New Guinea. He has lead tours taking people on safaris, up Kilimanjaro and to the Nadaam Festival.

He loves photography, people, scuba diving, and Tottenham Hotspur. He has recently cycled 100 km around Angkor for charity. Jake’s most happy walking through local scenes of everyday life, experimenting with local foods or swinging in a hammock with a view.
