Camp Abdelmoula, Douz

Surrounded by the rolling dunes of the Tunisian Sahara, Camp Abdelmoula offers a simple yet authentic desert stay in a peaceful and remote setting. Traditional North African décor, with colourful rugs, draped ceilings and handcrafted furnishings, creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, while the lack of internet encourages guests to switch off and enjoy the tranquillity of the desert. Simple en suite tents are equipped with proper beds, bedding, lighting, and private shower and toilet facilities. The camp serves hearty Tunisian cuisine, much of it using produce from its own vegetable garden, and guests can watch the traditional preparation of khobz el mella, a Bedouin bread baked beneath hot sand and embers. The restaurant building provides a comfortable communal space and charging points for electronic devices. By night, guests can gather around the campfire beneath remarkably clear, star-filled skies.
