The Sapumal Foundation is an art gallery in the former home of artist Harry Pieris. The rambling tile-roofed bungalow is packed with some of the best examples of Sri Lankan art since the 1920s. A considerable part of the works on display at the Sapumal gallery are from the founding members of the ’43 Group, who carved the face of contemporary Sri Lankan art. Also visit Kala Pola Art Market on Sunday’s to support local artists from all over the country who come here to sell their wares.
